Katie Dachs
Professor of Finance and Economics

 

 MCU’s lead finance professor since 2009, Katie Dachs teaches courses on business finance, macroeconomics, and microeconomics.  She also teaches several electives in her areas of interest, including personal finance, investing, and currency trading.  Her research interests span a variety of fields, including stock market, currencies, personal financial planning, long term microeconomics, economics of education, and public finance.  Her current work focuses on efficiency analysis of the direct loan program and on the extreme events in the markets, changing volatility, and what it means for individual investors.She holds a masters degree in Economics with an area in Finance from Murray State University and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Mid-Continent University.
