Personal Finance and Consumer EconomicsPortfolio Point Breakdown10                                First Submissions20                                Final Portfolio10                                Presentation40 Students will be assigned several writing assignments pertaining to different topics covered during the class.  Each assignment must be submitted via the Turn-it-in website.  Each assignment will have an individual due date.  Late assignments will be accepted, but will incur a grade penalty.  The instructor will make comments to students to help them improve and/or redo assignments, but will not make grammatical and spelling corrections.Students will have the option to make changes to individual writing assignments prior to submitting the Final Portfolio.  The Final Portfolio will consist of all individual writing assignments assembled into a small 3 ring binder, folder, or report cover.  The Final Portfolio must be submitted as a hard copy (printed).Students will give a 5-8 minute presentation over a topic of choice from their Portfolio.  This should be a subject that the student found particularly informative, useful, and/or fun!  Students are expected to utilize PowerPoint for displaying graphs, data, calculations, etc during the presentation.Portfolio Requirements – The Final Portfolio must be written in Times New Roman 12 pt. font.  It should be double spaced with 1 inch margins.  The portfolio must have a title page and a reference page.  Any references used to complete the assignment should be cited and listed on the reference page.    Assignments

1.      Chapter 1 – Set short-term, intermediate, and long-term financial goals.  Use Worksheet 1.1 on pg 14 of the text as an example.
